PZTL 029 - Updates on the upcoming months and events
Published 9 days ago • 3 min read
Welcome back -- and please forgive the slightly late broadcast -- today I'm going to be running you through a little bit of a roadmap for PARAZETTEL, what's going on in my own life so that you can understand what's on my plate and what's coming next.
To start, it's an update on the book...
⚠️ Minimal Note-Taking book pushed back to mid-September
I was originally launching the Minimal Note-Taking book this upcoming weekend, but there are a few reasons why I've chosen to move it back..
First - I got an opportunity to shoot photographs in London for the event of someone I've admired in the digital space for almost a year now. When it does become time to launch the book, I want that to be during a time where I can give it my full focus to launch, so that it goes as well as possible, and I don't want to give up this chance.
Second, the actual manuscript is not up to the quality that I want it to be at the moment. Writing about something in enough depth to call it a book is quite a bit more challenging than I expected. Minimal Note-Taking is not going to be a long book anyway, but I'm still fleshing things out and polishing at this point.
Third, mid-September is the third anniversary of the PARAZETTEL for Obsidian launch back in 2023 - the launch that started everything with my teaching on the internet here. It will be a nice way to commemorate this by launching the book then.
However, next weekend on the previous-assigned book launch, I am going to give you a taster of what we've been working on - you'll get the introduction chapter to read for yourself, to tide you over to when we go live.
You don't have to do anything else so long as you stay on the list - I'll be in touch next weekend!

Life + project updates aside from this...
There are many projects that I have plans for at the moment, and the book is rather the floodgates that are holding things back.
First, I want to tweak, improve and release PARAZETTEL Foundations once and for all, because there are many new people here and I want Foundations to be open so that anyone can learn from the lessons inside.
I've been working on ProseLab as well, building some more interaction features into the app
Most importantly, though, is Obssistant...
I believe that AI agents in and amongst our knowledge management systems that we've built up using systems like BASB, Zettelkasten and the like over years is going to be one of the great accelerators to knowledge work, perhaps the greatest since capable digital interfaces came out.
Throughout this, I want to be the one that builds the resources and platforms for the education and implementation around all of this, especially with a closer relation to Obsidian.
Of course, there's not much on the Obssistant.com website at the moment, but I've got lots of plans. By staying tuned, you'll be introduced to them in the next couple of months without any doubt.
First, I want to speak to people about how they view this topic as well, so if you want some 1-1 time to chat, keep an eye on emails from me going into the future...
Content this week...
The reason that this newsletter is a little late was because I realised that I hadn't shared anything to the internet last week.
I shipped an article in the afternoon yesterday to make up for it though -- and I was wondering, we're so close to 2,000 followers over on the platform -- can we get there before the book comes out? That would be something to celebrate even more. Anyway, here's this week's piece...
And that's it for the week from me! I appreciate the continued patience - one of my goals for the upcoming winter as well is to systemise things just a little better so that you can hear more from me, on a more predictable basis.
Talk soon, with a copy of the Minimal Note-Taking book intro for you to read!

Welcome back to PZTL, Today our main update is that we're publishing the Introduction to the Minimal Note-Taking book. At the time of writing I'm on the back of a FlixBus back to Bristol from London, having spent the weekend shooting photos for an event. This weekend was supposed to be the publish date of the entire book, but I need a couple more weeks to get everything together, so we're now publishing on the weekend closest to the 3rd anniversary of the flagship PARAZETTEL for Obsidian...
Welcome back to PZTL -- this week I wrote some articles, kept pressing on with the book manuscript and perhaps most strangely, locked myself inside of Obsidian. Here's the scoop... Locking myself inside Obsidian... Just the other day, when I was coming back from the gym, I had this bright idea to up the stakes for a YouTube video, and come back to releasing content over there with a bang. The raised stakes in question were essentially to use an app blocker (the strictest app blocker might I...
Welcome back, we're edging closer and closer to the Minimal Note-Taking book launch, and first and foremost let me say thank you to everyone who's already pre-ordered. It's not long now, and I can't wait for you to get your hands on the first edition. I'll keep you updated via email about any changes to the launch date, but right now we're still projected for that end-of-the-month weekend of the 28th - 30th. Thanks for remaining patient as I put this piece of work together. I can't wait to...
